Affirming its optimism on the long-term prospects of Philippine tourism, Gokongwei-led Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) has opened a new 102-room hotel in General Santos City, known as the country’s “tuna capital,” under the group’s newest deluxe hospitality brand Grand Summit Hotel.

This marks the 25th hotel property under RLC’s portfolio, including the international brands, which now has a total of 4,094 rooms—one of the largest hotel portfolio in the country.

Grand Summit Hotel, which has an area of 10,500 square meters, is situated beside the Robinsons Place GenSan. It had a soft opening on Oct. 15 with an introductory offer of P3,988 per room per night until the year-end, RLC said in a press statement.

Arthur Gindap, senior vice president and business unit general manager of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts said: “We, at Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, remain steadfast in our vision of extending our brand of hospitality and service all throughout the country and beyond. Ours is a vision built on a tradition of solidarity and perseverance, and this is what the Grand Summit stands for—a brand that can withstand the weathers of the highs and lows of economies—always at the forefront of what hotel service ought to be.”

The hotel follows the “Circle of Clean” (COC) protocol modeled after the World Health Organization’s hygiene and cleanliness standards as well as the Department of Health’s new normal protocol.

Aside from common precautions, COC prescribes extra safety measures, including: seamless online check in; luggage disinfection upon check in and checkout; stationing of ready-to-assist COC ambassadors in common areas and rigorous food handling hygiene.

The hotel offers a wide range of cuisines, multiple function rooms and a ballroom. It is pitched as an ideal venue for business meetings, exhibits, training and social gatherings. Function rooms can seat up to 30 guests while the Grand Summit Ballroom can fit up to 500 guests (banquet setup) and 700 guests (theater setup).

The pool and suite facilities will open on December 2021 while the Grand Summit Ballroom, spa and fitness center will open by the second quarter of 2022.
