BuCor backs down on pedestrian barriers

Instead of pushing its plan to build walls that obstruct Muntinlupa City residents, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) will build a “control gate” at the New Bilibid Prison. Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Wednesday said BuCor made the decision after meeting with officials of the Department of Justice, which has administrative supervision over the bureau, after the city council declared BuCor director general Gerald Bantag persona non grata.
