Low pressure area seen to dissipate on exit

The low pressure area (LPA) that entered the country’s territory over the weekend is expected to dissipate once it exits by Thursday, the weather bureau said on Tuesday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was spotted 65 kilometers north of El Salvador, Misamis Oriental, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said by Wednesday the LPA would cross the western portion of Mindanao, particularly the Zamboanga Peninsula region and the Sulu archipelago and may reach the Sulu Sea in the afternoon. On Thursday, Estareja said the LPA was expected to cross southern Palawan until it reaches the West Philippine Sea and exits from the Philippine area of responsibility. Davao region and Soccsksargen are forecasted to have cloudy skies and high chances of rain. Luzon, including Metro Manila, is expected to have cloudy skies with isolated light rain.
