Actor, 6 others nabbed in separate antidrug ops

An actor and six others were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Quezon City and Makati City on Friday and Saturday. Actor Dominic Roco, 33, was collared at 1 a.m. inside a townhouse in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City. Also arrested were his cohorts Reynaldo Sanchez, 45, Eugene Marvin Tolentino, 27, Renz Anthony Cruz, 33, and Dixie Diamante, 21. Found in their possession were P112,000 worth of suspected ‘shabu’ (crystal meth), P14,000 worth of suspected marijuana and buy-bust money. Roco was nominated for Best Actor in the 2013 Gawad Urian Awards for his movie, “Ang Nawawala.” He won the 2015 Pylon Award for Best Actor in the movie “Sleepless.” In Makati City, authorities arrested two drug suspects and seized P102,000 worth of suspected shabu, the Southern Police District said on Saturday. In Friday’s drug bust operation, drug suspects Jayson Mendoza Cabatan alias Bay, 20, and Ethel Monterey Plantilla, 32, were caught at 9:40 p.m. in Lansones St., Barangay Comembo, Makati City. Aside from drugs, police also confiscated from them one 9mm Armscor, one 9mm caliber magazine, six 99mm live ammunition and buy-bust money.
